A Three-Way Score

Take a good look at that picture. Now, look again. What do you see this time? Why am I claiming a three-way score with this photo?

#1: There's a beautiful snail trail, dry and glittering in today's warm sun.

#2. The wood slice is handsome just by itself.

#3. Catch the label to the left? Clyde Robin Seed Company. That's the box of red California poppy seed that arrived this morning. One pound of it. I'm going to scatter it all over; we're told it's an el nino winter coming on, which means plenty of moisture.

  2. I hope so, too! I've had problems with my red poppies -- everything from not being red enough to being eaten by the javelina!
This time, I'm putting out enough seed that surely something good (and RED) will happen!

I like the picture. We get wild red popies here, but only along certain roads. Wonder if someone is setting out the seeds.

  4. A real civic benefactor to scatter the seeds. I have a bit of a hillside that might support the Calif. poppies. By the way, the red is not the native color. Takes special breeding to get something close to a red. I'll probably wind up giving lots of seed away.
