Recycled decor

The present incarnation of Waffles & More is in a former Mexican restaurant, which is fine by me. Not only are the breakfasts yummy (and the specials are cheap), but the place is light and airy. Even taking into account the big murals of our two iconic mountains (Granite, above, and Thumb Butte, below).

I like the live plants and the painted plants as well.

Especially those huge sunflowers.

Other folk style, food related wall paintings add to the flavor of the restaurant. All topped off by the growing collection of kid's coloring sheets at the check-out counter.

The coffee cups? All in the back room, where my friends and I had our weekly breakfast this morning.

  1. How about a photo of the grub next time.

  2. steve -- what's to feature? Scrambled eggs ...sausage ... biscuits ... pancakes. Same old same old, photographically speaking.

windy -- one of the cups (not depicted) is actually spilling its contents.

  3. GJ, I agree, but it would probably make me want to go and cook breakfast.

  5. We don't have a diner in the area that makes American Breakfast. I don't get to enjoy one between visits to the states, unless I cook it. You know it always tastes better when you go out and eat. That's the fun part.

  6. steve -- yeah, there's something special about eating breakfast in a diner, cafe or restaurant. But I'd forgotten how foreign scrambled eggs & sausage links were to Europeans. I'll bet they'd find B&G (biscuits & gravy) stranger yet.
