Ravens nest early
Next, I may report on the saga of my iMac, the exploding capacitors, and my crashed hard drive.
Ooog. *Exploding* capacitors?! Egads. My work 'puter had only "bulging" capacitors, and that was bad enough, requiring me to get a new computer. I do hope the hard drive data was rescued!
ReplyDeleteNice raven pics. Our ravens here are larger, and louder, and harsher-sounhding.
Lovely pix, and since I can't upload photos, I'm going to tell my raven stories, piggybacking on your photos! I'm pretty sure that's OK with you:)
ReplyDeleteI'm begining to think my problems are all my computer..
Dotter -- Actually, mine were probably of the bulging variety also, but a consultation with The Google led me to all manner of discussions of the "exploding" capacitors. Apparently it was a major batch & affected PCs & Macs all over the place. I have no idea whether any of the hard drive data cam be rescuee!
ReplyDeletebrain -- it might be a software problem. Do you have anyone you can pick on to get it fixed? And by all means, piggyback off my ravens...
Goodness me! It sounds as if it is all happening at your place!
ReplyDeleteNot perhaps in a good way?
Hope your cold is on the improve or wane.
Very good pics of the raven/s.
meggie -- thanks for the good wishes! I got some good news about the crashed computer -- Apple is picking up the tab!!! Credit my computer guy.
ReplyDeletegranny j..beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear of your computer problems, but glad to hear it's being taken care of!
"exploding capacitors" You mean this for real? Eeek! -sigh-
ReplyDeleteMari-Nanci
Well. Keeping my fingers crossed on your data recovery; congrats on Apple picking up the tab; please, please keep us posted on your lungs; and my goodness gracious! Your photos are so lovely - they always are! - and they're quite find unphotoshopped too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like the beauty is in the eye of the betaker, rather than the technology.
Just in case you were wondering.
And, don't their eggs get cold? I mean, February?!? Maybe it's just me, but it seems a bit early for that.
ReplyDeletejan -- it looks like some of the problems, at least, are getting close to solution!
ReplyDeleteSnS -- I got the "exploding" capacitors from reports on the web; I sus[ect that omegamom's description of "bulging" capacitors is more to the point.
k -- I'll keep people posted on my condition -- today (Sunday, the coughing is finally subsiding at bit.) As for the ravens nesting early -- don't know the reason, but that's the cast with the courthouse nest -- which does have a direct, sunny east exposure.
Great pictures, really striking. I get the impression magpies nest really early here, corvids must be just tough cookies!
ReplyDeletelucy -- not only tough, but clever by half
