Take a look at some of the choice open space in the granites that was part of the package when the city recently acquired the old Yavapai County Fair Grounds. I only happened to take the photograph because I spotted a manmade up on the far rocks.
Zoom! And here you have it. A fountain? A gigantic bird feeder? A sculpt without any practical use? Whatever. It appears to have been created out of rocks, held together with cement. Of course, there was no info about this object when I queried The Google. Plenty of pictures of horses, cowboys, notables and one review panning the condition of the grandstands.Blogging Tips: You might want to visit OmegaMom or Loosely Speaking. Both have added some very practical blogging tips to the list I posted a couple of nights ago. Later --Meggie has answered at the original site of the list and Stitchwort has also weighed in at her site, with comments about comments, a subject dear to my heart! There's nothing better than being the instigator of a good discussion. BTW, Stitch has persuaded me to turn off the gobbledgook verification thingy, which, I have to admit, is a bother. Besides, Blogger emails comments as they arrive, so that I can catch spammers & cut them off at the pass. Did I mention that some clever IT guy is using segments from ancient manuscripts as gateways to a web site, the idea being to get a consensus of the content of those hard to read texts.

Your photo of the granites reminds me that we have granites, too. They are called "Eschbacher Klippen". Good idea - I'll include them in my next post about the "Taunus Mountains".
Bro & Stitch -- seeing as how this is govt. land, my guess would be some sort of school project -- which reminds me that I've got to post the pictures from Acker Park that I took several weeks ago. More art done by school kids.
Olivia -- what a wonderful, mouth-filling phrase for granites. We've got some wonderful Eschbacher Klippen at the Granite Dells, Granite Basin and also just past Yava on the road to Hillside and Bagdad.
Oh, yes, Olivia -- translation?
It means "cliffs of Eschbach", a little mountain village near where I live.
