LOL Cats item, which suggests that those pictures could be from any place in North America with aspen and pine trees. Too bad -- I did so want the pix to be local! And we definitely have cougars in our area, unlike many places where such emails have circulated.
However, here's an image guaranteed to be local because I know the photographer. Let it serve as a warning about how high to locate your bird feeders!

The picture of the deer made me laugh! Some people have squirrels raiding the bird feeder....but deer! What fun.

jean -- I didn't know that deer would go for seeds, but I suppose it makes a certain amount of sense. Seeds, after all, are plant life & that's what deer eat.
Ha! Love that deer pic. And, the cougar one is cool, too. They are magnificent but I get all nervous when I see them as they frequent my area too often.
Full marks for its attempt. I wonder if it managed to get anything out of the bird feeder.
I wonder what the birds had to say about this encroachment.
I never get tired of wild life shots- or pets, for that matter.

anil -- I suspect that this isn't the first time for that deer; just the first time that a photographer happened to be in the vicinity.
