In the swim

The dotter arrived. It rained last night, the sun came out this morning and was with us most of the day. The gods are on our side! We went to see the gingerbread houses at the Prescott Resort & Casino.

So here are two of many pictures taken this afternoon. A lone head bobbing around in the pool that faces Thumb Butte, the city and the afternoon sun. I fear I shivered as I looked at this gentleman. The gingerbread creations were splendid -- but require a lot more time to prep than I have right this moment. So think about going for a swim, why doncha?

Today's Links: Can't get enough of Route 66? You might start with Route News to get the latest intel on the Mother Road. More Christmas in Arizona's Christmas City? Yes, the Courthouse all lit up at Dagny's Desk, while Foolsewoode shows the very same seasonally decorated pickup that I posted the other night. And apropos my grump about Christmas music, here's a great mashup by Straight No Chaser.

Love that lone head bobbing. Here's hoping dotter enjoys lots of sunshine on her break from the frigid north...

kate -- if you read the dotter's post today, you'll know all about how she brought the Big Honkin Pair of Storms all the way to AZ. By the way, the hollyhock seeds came with her -- oh, so many. I'm going to have to share. I do thank you so very much...
