Last night it rained...

...and it rained and it rained. Finally, Storm 2 chilled enough to give us a beautiful dusting of snow about the time we forced ourselves out of bed this morning. I hate to think what it might have totalled had all that wetness been frozen! The dotter had planned to drive up the hill to Flag yesterday or today, but thought better of it. Don't know how much snow fell in the High Country.

Tis most photogenic, however, and the day was just warm enough so no ice to slip on. Sson, BTW, reports that snow actually fell at his home in Cajun Louisiana a day or so ago.

By this afternoon, the snow line had moved well up the side of Woodchute Mountain when dotter and I drove over to Prescott Valley. As you can see, she did enjoy a small taste of sunshine. Our next storm is not due until Tuesday next.

Hi;
So pretty. I can assure you the far high country got a great pile of snow. And, I am thrilled that dotter enjoyed the sunshine.

PS: If you got 2 comments from me, I apoligize. My computer is acting quite strange.

GJ, good for you. Glad to see a little snow in another neck of the woods.

kate -- it's been a long time since we had a great pile of snow here, tho it's been known to happen. But I'm truly glad for the sunshine, as is the dotter.

bro -- you bet! About 1.39 inches, which is a good bit hereabouts.

steve -- we even have a little bit of snow left over in well shaded spots. I'm now wondering what next week will bring...

I'd heard that the Cajuns got some snow.

Woodchute Mountain... which one is that? If I'm driving on 69 into PV, what side of the highway is it on?

I know where Glassford Hill (dormant volcano) is, but Woodchute?

Just lovely! Thank you for posting these! There's a certain aroma the pine bark gets when it snows, then thaws, and I'm feeling nostalgic for it.

anon av -- going up 89A from PV headed for Jerome -- Woodchute is the mountain on the left/west & Mingus is the mountain on the right/east side of the highway as you drive through the canyon & head to the top.

Melanie -- glad to help furnish good memories! Where are you now?
