Oh that I should be so lucky as to see, much less photograph the critters that friend Bob espies over in Mountain Club. In this particular batch, a lone coyote (above) and grey squirrel plus a raven. I'm sure the raven was up to no good.

That coyote is somehow a more elegant creature than I imagined them, rather between a fox and a wolf.
The raven was either eyeing what the squirrel was eating or the squirrel and thinking about eating him. I would guess a raven would go after a squirrel, not sure.
The coyote looks pretty healthy!
Wonder what was the raven upto. The squirrel seems oblivious to it!
I agree with Lucy! For some reason I had imagined coyotes to be rather ragged creatures.
I wonder if the Raven would attack the squirrel?
lucy -- coyotes are handsome critters when well or reasonably fed.
steve -- I think the raven would more likely go for the squirrel's food, if such food suited the raven. Otherwise, he's quite likely to just tease the squirrel. BTW, how are your squirrels doing? I miss them.
jarart -- yes, he does. I suspect there's food to be had in Mountain Club.
anil -- one never knows with raven. He/she might be up to getting food -- or possibly making mischief.
meggie -- all too often, coyotes are poor raggedy critters when the food is scarce. Like I said to Lucy, when they're reasonably well fed, they are quite handsome.
Very fun pictures - I never saw a raven just watch like that - funny! We have lots of ravens and coyotes out here - but no squirrels...
