On My Way to the Blogger Meet-Up

It's #2 -- the second time we've had a meet-up of Prescott area bloggers. A time for exchanging ideas, experiences, and problems/solutions. Over at The Raven, splendid venue for food and get-togethers (except at night unless you like your music TA -- Thoroughly Amplified.)

Turns out it was an eventful day in general. Frinstance there was a scattering of tombstones around and about the Sharlot Hall grounds. Obviously a Halloween connection, but no signs to indicate that this was An Event.

The day's event on the grounds was actually a wedding. Chairs were set up, and the bridal party (plus TV camera) was already on-site, just waiting for the groom and the crowd to arrive.

Further down Gurley, I spotted this lady who eschewed the nearby benches, choosing instead to perch on the door stoop to read her daily newspaper.

Of course, this couldn't be a real Saturday without some special event to tie up downtown traffic.

In this case, one street was blocked off for an Oktoberfest celebration. Took me by surprise -- I hadn't seen word one about this in the local newspaper.

Of course, there was a busker. Because my LH played a mean banjo, I have a weakness for this particular instrument and felt obliged to take his picture for old times' sake.

A reminder: belly dancers over at our local East Indian restaurant...

...and another to mark your calendar for studio tours of local artists.

For the record, I'd like to nominate the bulletin board at The Raven as one of the city's best. It's busy, chock-a-block full of great reading matter. My kind of BB!

The restaurant also merits inclusion on my Cool Loos list. This is just a part of the artwork in the Ladies'. An interesting look at downtown -- not a cowboy or pseudo-Western scene in sight.

Looks like a good blogger turnout, and it looks like you had another full day of interesting photo ops! "O the things that you see," Gj!

Brain -- just too bad you couldn't make it! Good people there, including a gen-u-wine bulletin board operator. I had thought those were long extinct.

Jan -- always happy to have some one (or ones) along for the walk!
