Yellow Is the Color...

... of the sun and of daisies

... fire hydrants and fire rules

... road and traffic warnings

... machinery that works for a living

But, lately, just one heck of a lot of vehicles are showing up in yellow -- pickup trucks, jeeps...

...and classy new sedans,

...his'n her dirt bikes

... and even a fully loaded hog. As one who loves bright, strong colors, I really applaud this trend away from all those don't-see-me colors that have drabbened (endrabbed?) our city streets for too long. Everybody: give a hip hip hooray for yellow!

There's a Ford Escape up at Katie's house that's pretty much like ours, but it's bright yellow. I'm a tad envious every time I see it.

Nice pictures. Yellow all over the place.

Not to forget jillions of wattles (acacias to you) with odouriferous yellow blooms

You can find the frog here.

Yes - I just love yellow too. One day it will be a yellow car (the safest colour for visibility they say) - but I just cannot envisage having a yellow motorcycle for some reason.

Yellow good.
And purple is the colour of my bathroom curtain, now showing over at the String Bag.

With this wonderful bunch of comments, obviously, yellow proves it is a great attention-getter!

Brain-- I'd like to see you and E in a yellow Escape-- or any color, at that.

Steve -- I was surprised at how many yellow pictures I found once I came up with the theme...

Bro -- we have our acacias, mainly down in the desert, but ours are called palo verde...

Pause here while I take a look at Steve's frog. Backson.

Neat picture of a Eurofrog, Steve. Of course, our ponds are full of frogs imported from the old world, too. There's a tank up in the Kaibab that was ringed by bullfrogs when we visited it many years ago. As we walked around it, we were preceded by "plop! plop!" as they dived into the water for safety.

And now for Mr. Avus, with whom I agree about the color of motorcycles. They should be black & menacing, not yellow & smiley. When will you have pictures of your legions?

Stitch -- I'm about to go over to see that luxurious beaded bathroom curtain.

My mail person drives a bright yellow jeep. It's noticeable but it just doesn't seem right somehow.

sheoflittlebrain, would you believe that two of our kids have matching yellows which they bought within two months of one another. One boy has the jeep (tonka toy, if you ask me) and one girl has the Escape.

And child number 4's favorite color his entire life, which must be why he is a Michigan fan.

Nice post, granny j.

Cat-A-- apparently. See tonight's post.

Katie-- looks like yellow is a upbeat color with lots of followers.

Endrabbened! Yes! Great neologism!

I love bright punchy colors, and your yella post makes my eyes happy.

You should see the pillow cases I made for my bed! Assertive colors all, including the plaid.

I love the colour yellow. It is my favourite. And I also love Dandelions. I know they are weeds, but I love everything about them, from the shape of their leaves to the flowers to the wonderful seed heads. That is one lovely photo of a Dandelion.

Meggie -- glad you enjoyed my dandylions -- they are very photogenic daisies. Surprised you didn't mention their use in salads or wines.
