OK, Yellow Is for Safety!

Another of those spooky, serendipitous moments! Early this afternoon, an old buddy gave me a ring. He had just come up the White Spar* on his bike. Was I home?

And so he showed up. On his yellow Kawasaki. What's with the yellow, I ask. It's very visible, says the buddy, as he takes off helmet and other black and yellow safety gear.

I should have figured -- after all, didn't I just post all those yellow warning signs? Two plus two, you know.

Anyhow, here is buddy, looking like a yellow jacket hornet as he gets ready to take off.

*The White Spar Road, for those of you who don't know the area, is the old mountain route into Prescott. It is a fine 15-mile road with a couple hundred curves, beloved of bikers. Some day I'll write about it.

steveg-- this particular one said that it took real discipline to keep his speed down to 40 mph on the White Spar.

Cat-A -- it's the season, you know.

Yellow here is postmen's vans, our teapot and the diamond road signs that tell you you no longer have priority from the right!
You've done some fabulous pics lately.

Thank you, Ms. Lucy. I really enjoy finding the pictures that tell a story and sharing them.

I admit he is right about visibility and I do wear a yellow jacket on the bike - but, like you, I like a black motorsickle (as can be seen at: http://little-corner-of-the-earth.blogspot.com/2006/10/wiltshire-ride.html)

Oh, I hope you write about the White Spar soon. That is the way to the cabin and I don't know anything about it.

Avus -- I never figured you for black leathers; this I gotta see!

QD -- I promise to do the White Spar but only when I have a bit of leisure! My Uncle worked on the original project,BTW.

Black bike - not black leathers! Although I did used to wear a red leather jacket.

Mr. Avus -- As you may know, I am partial to R.E.D.
