Actually, I went into the Shoe Box over on Gurley Street to get really comfortable footgear for Mom, whose entire shoe wardrobe dates back to her fashion days and has proven pretty doggone uncomfortable of late.
But what caught my eye: the sox! Designs galore, from bears, lizards and Pooh to hot peppers, frogs and monkeys. Louder yet than my own beloved Polartec winter sox.
No, I didn't buy any. Maybe I should have, but the idea didn't occur to me, I was so busy buying Mom the shearling lined moccasins and taking pictures. But I may well go back one of these days. Better make it soon or the fashions will have changed on me.

I love 'em! What a great place to take the Grandaughters. I'd choose the red checked ones beside the flowerpot for myself.
How about you?
They have more socks than people have feet. I'm a plain sock type of guy.
Lizards or frogs, I think, Brain -- haven't really made up my mind. R.E.D., of course, is always fine!
And spoken like a guy, Steve! I can't imagine sox like those on any male critter of my acquaintance or of my imagination.
SWMBO was looking all over for them last pre-Christmas for the BRD. She had to settle for some toe-socks from Penney's.
Cat-A --Obviously,SWMBO is ahead of the fashion swing, in contrast to me, running far behind!
I love fun sox! I have 5 pair themed just for Halloween! (They were on sale.) And Christmas sox. If I were visiting the SW I would get the chili pepper sox.
I'd agree that holidays are certainly occasions that call for interesting sox, Julia.
