Well, our hurricane remnant went east of us. New Mexico and Texas got the rain. When I set out for my evening walk, the skies were ominously grey; by the time I had climbed up the nearby hill, we were having a Sunset. And so here's what our little city looks like in the red light of a setting sun, from a hilltop.
By the way, do take note of the old VA Hospital domiciliary buildings in the distance. I hadn't realized they were visible until I opened up PhotoShop.
Here's what became of those ominous grey clouds. Neat sunset, but I would have settled for the rain. Maybe the next Pacific hurricane will blow some our way.

your pictures of cloud formations look so romantic with their shades of pink.
The hurricanes that you get over the States have such lovely names names - Henrietta, Katrina - yet so much damage is done by them.
I am glad we don't have hurricanes over Germany, though we have other nasty things going on here. I might tell you about them later.
We must have picked up a remnant of Henrietta or such--off and on showerers this afternoon and maybe into the morning.
The sunset shots remind me of those we had when Indonesia had big time vulcanism a few years back. Lots of shades of orange and pink (when clouds were about). Hermano

Olivia -- It would be truly freaky for Arizona to get an actual hurricane, tho we do get remnants of Pacific hurricanes, which can bring a huge rain! I suspect that's where we get our so-called 100-year (every 10 years) and 400-year (every 25 or 30 years) rains.
Bro -- we had red sunsets for about a year after El Chichon did its thing down in Mexico in the 80s.
Brain -- wasn't that light wonderful? a real Arizona Highways moment.

Very nice pictures, Granny J, but you were just a tad too far west for the rain. Here in Prescott Valley, we had torrential downpours yesterday afternoon. Today's Courier says 2-1/4 inches. I got into the middle of it and it rained so hard my windshield wipers stripped a gear trying to keep up with it.
