It's on the belt...

...almost anything this old coot wants or needs. His gun. His knife. His tape measure. His small canteen. His ammo. And more.

I ran into him in the Park Plaza parking lot on my way to the folk music festival back a month or so. His hair was white. He had a long beard. He might have been an aged-in-grade hippy. Or a miner up from the Hassayampa. His attitude was older-but-wiser hippy, but the gun certainly suggested a miner.

Never did find out. But I certainly did admire that he crafted a little leather pocket for his cell phone (above, left.)

The belt also seems to act as a leather girdle. Hermano

Hey! You didn't admire the rainbow galuses! I'm amazed... then there's the putative black back support...

I bet he rides a Harley. Looks like a kidney belt he's wearing.

Yeah, a gun and a knife are really important when you're going to a shopping mall.

Actually, he was on his way to the folk music festival over at the Sharlot Hall venue. I don't know what ever happened to him -- they do have a "no guns" sign over there. Most of my friends who carry are very careful not to break that rule.
